African Tribal Art – a rich heritage of a fascinating variety
tribal art has been part of African culture for over 6,000 years. There are hundreds of African tribes and each has its own unique style of art forms by adding a variety of African tribal art. The best-known forms African tribal art are:
1. Sculpture
Most are wooden African sculptures. Often in these sculptures Wood, artists represent the spirits of deceased persons. Features like the symmetrical facial expressions, posture, stronger still, and representation the man in the prime of life, large heads and prominent navel may be noticed in men's sizes.
2. Ceramics
The beauty of African art can also be noticed in the various traditional utensils and ceramics. handmade vases, jars, plates and bowls have also been painted clay by artists to make each item more attractive. With wood and clay, some pieces of ancient pottery from the original have also been found tell us about the ingenuity of these ancient peoples.
3. Jewelry
Items such as slopes, neck pieces, bracelets and other jewels of African tribal society are unique and have a background the actual use of the ceremony Daily. Jewelry made of hair of elephant, giraffe, hair, nail lion ivory, animal bones, are not only beautiful but unique in itself.
4. Masks
Now for masks. Who does not know about African masks? In most forms of traditional dance, the dancers wear masks. In fact, the games continue African rituals remain incomplete without masks. The masks are used in processions, festivals and other local celebrations and even funerals. There are even some masks tribal animals like African elephants, zebras and antelopes.
5. Paintings
African painters use very abstract visual canons and regulated with different shades of colors to represent the qualities and characteristics of any subject. Nature is the most common theme in the paintings of Africa.
In many African tribal art forms, artists attempt to capture the various shapes of animals and plants. However, the issue unifier is the fascination with the human figure. There are famous painters in the Western world has been greatly influenced by the paintings of Africa, such as Gauguin, Modigliani, Van Gogh, Matisse and Picasso.
